A little over 50% of all the households in the state of Michigan make less than $50k per year. In the target market of Kent county 47.4% of households fall into this income category. Likewise when we examine households making less than $100k per year, we find that 80.3% of all the households in Kent county make less than $100k as compared to 81.2% of all households in the state of Michigan.

When we flip this analysis to the high end income brackets, we find that 29% of households in Kent county make between $75k and $200k annually as compared to 27.4% in the state of Michigan. Also 3.7% of all households in the target market of Kent county boast an income of more than $200k per year - statewide in Michigan only 3.3% of all households can make this claim.

Clearly the distribution of households by income classes for the county and state demonstrates, that Kent county is slightly more affluent that the state of Michigan on average. Likewise when Dependable Roofing sends out advertizing targeting middle income and lower income neighborhoods they will highlight packages that include the standard durable asphalt shingles that don't last as long as slate but are much more affordable.
