4.22 Market Value of Owned Home by Race Nationally Analysis

In order to analyze the market value of owned homes by race we have broken the national population into the following categories:

  1. The average market value of owned home by folks who are classified as White & Other races.
  2. The average market value of owned home by folks who are classified as Black.
  3. The average market value of owned home by folks who are classified as Asian.

When we examine this national data on the market value of homes based on the race of the homeowner the following items come to light:

  1. Between 2010 and 2014, the value of homes owned by Asians have gone up by 8.4% on average.
  2. In the same 5 year period, the value of homes owned by folks classified as White have increased 4.5% on average.
  3. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about Black folks who on average have seen the value of their homes decline by 7.6%

These national insights may not always apply to a target market like Cobb county, but it is important for Anthony, Christine and Sofia of Spotless Homes to understand the nuances of race and its impact on home ownership. From a marketing perspective, if Spotless Homes were to market their services to areas with a large minority population and relatively lower hosing values, it may serve them well to not focus on large expensive cleaning contracts but instead provide specials for one time cleaning which may require a smaller financial commitment from the homeowner but will still enable them to benefit from the house cleaning services provided by the firm.
